Steak House in Barre

They havent changed in decades. Everything is boring Cysco food prepared in a cheap way on old plates.If you are 55-60+, have fun. If you want better local food prepared well, go... Well, anywhere else.Tables wobbly, chairs uncomfortable.I haven't been there in over a decade, still below average.

The staff was great. That being said, there was a tray on the table next to us catching rain water leaking through the roof. We had to wait for at least a 3rd of the food to be replenished, 20 minutes or more. There was no variety, mostly meat, no potatoes and the veg was carrots. Sad. It used to be the place to go on Sunday. I will not return.

I love the lobster and steak. My wife loves the salad bar . Great atmosphere ..very friendly .

Love the steaks. No other place in Barre gives you salad bar and dessert for the same price. Good food and great value

Their function buffets are awesome! However I had my first meal here the other day and it was mehhh. I got steak tips with peppers and onions. The peppers and onions were not sauted they were still crunchy and raw. While their meals do come with a salad bar and dessert bar, for 20 bucks I got maybe 8 steak tips! While I cant eat that many anyway, it just wasnt worth the price. Plating is plain, no garnish on old white plates. In this day in age of a range of options to choose from, I wouldnt choose this place.

Great Steak & Fresh Fish

While working in the Barre, Montpelier area I went searching for a local area steak house and came across the Steak House Restaurant. Some of the reviews I read were not favorable but they based their low ratings on having a grilled cheese sandwich or spaghetti. Wanting a steak I gave it a try. I could not have been more pleased. The owner Toni, and my server Melissa, went out of their way to make sure everything was as good as it could be. The top sirloin steak I had was cooked to perfection and tender. If you want grilled cheese or spaghetti go where they feature those types of items. But if you want a very good steak and great service give The Steakhouse Restaurant a try.

Attended a wedding shower there. Had breakfast brunch. Pleasantly surprised at quality of food. They ran out of apple crisp which I was looking forward to

I absolutely love the steak house salad bar and their steaks are pretty awesome too... everyone is so friendly here. My only complaint as far as the food goes is that the fried haddock is perfect unfortunately the tartar sauce tastes gross(in my opinion) and I HAVE to have a good tartar sauce with my fish so I just brought it home and made my own... problem solved 😊

We had a wonderful Sunday brunch as usual!! Love their breakfast brunch!

We had our East Barre Auto Sales Christmas Party here again this year on December 15, 2018!!! Amazing job, great food. Room decorated beautifully!!! Thanks to Toni, Bartenders and staff, they were amazing and put up with some of these men's childish behaviors!!!! Everyone had a great time at this party as we always do!!! Thanks to all of them for a wonderful time!!!! Everyone should have their Christmas Party there!!!!!

Friendly professional staff. Food adequate but not great. Had the Sunday buffet. Scrambled eggs horrible. Rest of buffet bland and disappointing. Bathroom tiny, hard to negotiate, long overdue for a remodel of bathrooms. Good parking, easy to find. Find it odd that it is truly handicapped accessible. Restaurant over all appeared clean.

Great staff, VERY good food! Nice and hot and full of flavor. Nice atmosphere with the fire place going.

Awesome. Toni and staff are great and if you are there on a Friday night after 6 and Marko isn't out working he will be there doing a magic trick. Great for all ages.

The steaks are great, salad bar is always fresh with lots of variety, and the serve- yourself ice cream bar has great toppings to mix and match. Tonight we had the prime rib special. It was way bigger than we could eat, tender and flavorful. We received great service from Melissa who ran back and forth with a smile to satisfy all our requests.This is a great place to bring your family, throw a party or wedding reception, or have a romantic dinner for two. Toni runs the place with just the right balance of down home friendliness and professional attention to detail.

For the past couple of years, East Barre Auto Sales has had our Christmas Party there. Amazing, we keep going back.Toni and the staff make it such a pleasant, fun time, the food is so good, and each meal comes out at the same time for all of the guests so no one is waiting for theirs while the rest are enjoying their own.Lots of appetizers and desserts to choose from, and never run out!!!Had previously gone to a different place, but could only choose from a 3 entree menu, not off the entire menu!!! That was not good!!!At the Stake House our guests can choose from the complete menu and that makes them happy!!!!Planning our next party for this year right now!!!Also, we love the Sunday Brunch!!!!

It's Sunday morning banquet is great. Today is both my husband's and my birthday,we we're hoping the kids would give us a gift certificate for Sunday brunch. There's still a few more days. But you are wonderful. Hats off to you.

Amazing service. Walked in was seated immediately served our drinks, placed our orders and had them in front of us within minutes. Food was delicious. Portions were however on the small side.

Really enjoyed going with my son to the Magician they have on Friday nights!! Food was great, Salad Bar was stocked, Ice cream machine were all excellent. Prices are a little to expensive though.

This is a must go to my husband and I went for the first time the other day only because we wanted steak, However we not only got steak but seafood as well. There was extremely nice waitresses, nice clean bathrooms, the prices were reasonable, and there were people of all ages there. Saw birthday party's going on and prom kids having fun. My husband and I will definitely go again

Very friendly staff and wonderful food

The salad bar is always empty or filled with wilted product. They don't even have a dinner vegetable option. Their chicken breast precooked, ice dipped, frozen out of a box. mashed back together. All they offer is fast food quality at restaurant prices.

Over priced, disgusting tasteless food. We didnt get terrible service- because we didnt get ANY service. We were seated, asked about drinks and never spoken to again. We had to signal being ready to leave by literally getting ready to leave. Overall, I wish I could leave no stars, but the people working there were actually professional.

For a steak house, they couldn't even cook a strip steak medium rare which was very disappointing. The wait staff was very friendly however

Great atmosphere, good salad bar and sundae bar. My son had the kids haddock plate and I had fried scallops. Scrumptious!

It was decent. We went for sunday brunch buffet. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable. The bacon was far too dry. The eggs were wierd...not sure if they are powdered or were put into a blender before they were cooked, but like...stop it. Everything else was decent. Not amazing, but not terrible. Definitely costs too much for the quality though.

They had a wide variety of food available including breakfast foods, lunch foods, a salad bar, and a sundae bar but a lot of their cooked foods lacked seasonings and flavour.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Steak House... The food was excellent and the staff was outstanding... Tony and her staff made my special occasion spectacular. I can not thank them enough. I would recommend this restaurant for all your special occasions or if you just want dinner the food is outstanding and the service and atmosphere is even better.

We were passing through and caught the Sunday lunch buffet. The food was good, but it was way overpriced. A mix of breakfast and comfort food lunch items for $16/person, and drinks were not included.

Best Sunday brunch ever!!!

Not good service and certainly not even close to the best buffet I have been to. For $14.99 a plate this presentation left a lot to be desired.Ex. Baked haddock.was actually boiled?? To me baked is in a crust or something similar. This was sitting in a pan (in water)being kept warm by a sterno burner.Give some thought before spending money on this. Glad to see others are rating this resteraunt as it should be (Truthfully!!) 1 star at best!!I would have to say that anyone that gives this "resteraunt 4 stars or higher" definitely does not eat out much and has low expectations for food preparation, delivery and quality.

Way too long of a wait, was there for one and a half hour before we got our food just to have poor food without flavor.... food its over price, add another 30 dollars to our 112 dollars bill and you can have excellent food and steak at Sams steak house in ludlow VT. Will definitely not go back there!!!

Had a wonderful dinner with our 18 month old son they were all so nice to us and him I will definitely be returning.

Great place for a quiet dinner or a large function

Wish I could leave zero stars. Food was cold and gross. 3$ coffees on top of a 15$ buffet tab with no service? I hope someone reads this and doesn't go here one day. Then the money I spent there will have been put to good use, to keep people away.Also shady as hell. Didn't get service until we put our coats on to leave.
